Is your water bill giving you nightmares? Is your grass looking shriveled and brown no matter what efforts you take to help it grow? If this matches your scenario, then artificial grass is the solution for you.
Ready to replace your grass with artificial turf?
Growing grass in this Arizona climate costs money. Your water bill has to reach unreasonable heights in order for your grass to look green and healthy all year round. No matter how hard you try there will always be those pesky insects chomping away at your lovely lawn. You simply don’t have the money or time to keep your grass looking as green as you want. If that’s the case, it may be time to switch to artificial grass.
Artificial grass has many benefits, especially in this Tucson weather. Here are just a few of those benefits
Artificial Grass Saves Money
Saving money is great, especially when it comes to that ever increasing water bill. Water in Arizona isn’t cheap and no matter how much you water your grass, it always seems to be on its last thread. Skip the hassle of endless watering and expensive bills by installing artificial grass. Your wallet will thank you for it.
Artificial Grass Keeps Your House Clean
Dirt, mud, and grass always manage to find their way into the house with real grass. Whether it’s the kids or the dogs, your floors are never spotless. With artificial grass, there’s less worry about treading the muck of the outside into your home. Endless mopping is in the past with artificial grass. It’s time to shorten your chore list.
Artificial Grass is Hypoallergenic
For many people, spring time means allergies. You may find that the patch of grass in your yard is creating a sneeze fest in your home. Since artificial grass has no pollen to produce, you can breathe easy again. So skip the allergy relief pills and boost your health this spring with artificial grass.
Artificial Grass Makes Yard Work a Breeze
Mowing the lawn may be a great way for the neighborhood teen to make money, but for you, it’s a sweaty chore. You put it off as often as you can until your grass starts to look like the Savanna. With artificial grass you don’t have to worry about mowing the lawn. It requires no trimming, no fertilization; which means your Sunday mornings can be spent a little more leisurely.
When most people think of artificial grass they think of retro Astro-turf you might have seen on The Brady Bunch, but there are other types of artificial grasses out there. The most popular type of artificial grass is field turf. This is the type of artificial grass that is used for sports stadiums. It’s incredibly durable and easy to maintain.
Artificial grass is environmentally safe. In the past, most synthetic turfs were lead-based; which was not only unsafe for the health of families but also the health of the environment. At La Cholla Landscaping, we take immense care in choosing synthetic grasses with no traces of lead. Your family’s health and your environment’s health is always the first priority.
Artificial grass saves water and money. If you’re living on a tight budget, you may find it difficult to constantly water your lawn. Water is a precious resource here in Tucson, which means it costs more to use more. By installing synthetic grass, you cut down your use of water by an exponential amount. Depending on the size of your lawn, you could save close to 50 gallons of water per month by switching to synthetic grass.
Turf should be rinsed and groomed periodically. The frequency of cleaning should be determined by the activity level. For example, if your turf is subject to animals and pets it should be rinsed more often. The higher traffic areas should also be groomed more often. To properly clean, rinse and use a stiff bristled broom or rake to groom the fibers. This will help prevent matting and maintain the appearance. If the turf is not groomed periodically and does mat substantially, we suggest you have it groomed professionally to restore its appearance. We also suggest for areas of heavy path traffic that you place stepping stones or form some kind of path.
The turf can get hot in temperatures usually above 80-90 degrees in direct sunlight. Rubber infill can make this problem even worse. Along with a couple of other reasons, we avoid using rubber infill.
The backing is perforated and will drain as natural grass typically would. Installing the proper base material is also key for preventing a drainage problem.
Some products shine more than others. The sheen will progressively diminish and eventually go away. Some products in the market place are shinier than other for various reasons i.e. wider blades refract more light, rectangular yarns refract more light, and some yarns go through a de-lustering process. The length of time depends on the product shape and the chemical makeup of the yarn.
